Message from the Principal

Principal’s message:

AT RLE, We will be AMAZING Listeners and Learners!!  Our students are definitely succeeding in their academic and social journey here at Raceland Lower!  We are progressing forward into the second half of the school year.  Our students are becoming independent and very proud of themselves for being successful in all areas of school.  We are so proud of the growth they have shown on their Winter STAR assessments in Kindergarten through Second grade and TS Gold for Pre-Kindergarten!  These assessments provide our teachers with great data that helps them with meeting the needs of our students.

Thank you also for getting your/our students here on time every day! This is a sure way of helping your student to succeed. Our attendance in January was 93.61%, which is again slightly higher than December. Let’s keep it going even higher in February! We have gotten a little higher each month since November.  Our goal is to have our attendance closer to 95%!  I know we can make it happen.

Thanks in advance to those who are planning to participate in our World’s Finest Chocolate fundraiser.  The orders forms will be sent home on February 15th.

We also want to welcome to our RLES family, Ms. Mazie Leger and Ms. Carly Prejean, our two new official Kindergarten teachers.

Happy Valentine’s Day and Happy Mardi Gras from your Raceland Lower Family.

Valerie Bourgeois

Our mission here is to ensure all students are successful by building their foundation!

***Parents – Just letting you know we have several jackets and coats here at school in the lost and found.  If your child has lost a jacket or coat, please stop by and check out our lost and found.  Also, please always write your child’s name in their jackets, so we can get them to the rightful owner here at school.
